The Mortgage Process - Start to finish

When buying your first home, it's important to be in the know every step of the way & to understand how the process of applying for a mortgage works...

Affordability & Deposit – We will assess your income, outgoings & available deposit to determine how much you can borrow, the mortgage products/rates you are eligible for & what fits within your budget.

Costs - Establish what costs are involved to make sure there are no surprises that could affect your deposit. Solicitor fees, stamp duty, valuation & lender product fees.

Agreement in Principle (AIP) – This is the first part of an application that will perform a credit & affordability check to make sure you are eligible to apply. This puts you in prime position for putting an offer on a property with an estate agent. We will do this for you & provide a certificate for you to hand to the estate agents. 

Application – Once you have an offer accepted on a property, let us know & we will start putting the application together on your behalf. Once submitted, the application will be assessed by an underwriter & valuation booked in on the proposed property to make sure the lender agrees with its value.

You may also want to instruct your solicitors at this point to get the ball rolling.

Mortgage Offer – Once the mortgage has been accepted, you will be presented with a mortgage offer. This is also sent to the solicitors to finalise the sale for you. Yay!
